I've read that we can reduce the consumption of battery if we increase the interval update on widgets such as facebook, twitter, email and weather widget. Some suggest to remove the widget all together. I was wondering if we dont have any internet access whatsoever, and the widget can't be updated. Will this be the same as not having the widgets or the widgets still consuming battery life even though the internet is off and they can't be updated.

I get almost three days of battery.
I removed all my widgets and install kernel power.
These two things alone should save you a lot of battery consumption.

The widgets should activate some programs at the interval to get updates. I believe there'll be min power consumption just to remind the wingets to self-activate. Sorry, I'm not a tech expert...just logic thinking.

I have a couple of widgets like APNews and Foreca. My battery lasts only 2 days (I have wifi on at home).

Yes, they still consume power, as they try to update from time to time.
The process of keeping a timeout alive uses battery with or without an internet connection.

I can get up to 2 days without 3G data usage.

3G data can kill my battery in less than 5 hours

Oh yeah, nothing quite kills battery like streaming internet radio over 3G and back out via the FM transmitter! Eeep! Since the alarm "wakes" the phone up even when it's off, I just power my phone off at night to charge it. Although I have been using the Sleep Analyzer app, but that kills all connections so I don't notice much of a drain.
