I have had recently messed my desktop several times because it goes to edit mode in my pocket.

What I would need is a widget which enable/disable desktop edit mode to prevent such accidents.

I found this information how to do it on command line but it is not so usable when there is a need to modify desktop time to time.

To disable edit mode:

gconftool-2 -s /apps/osso/hildon-desktop/key-actions/disable_edit -t bool true

To enable edit mode:

gconftool-2 -s /apps/osso/hildon-desktop/key-actions/disable_edit -t bool false

Not exactly what you're asking, but if you have installed the CSSU then you can enable/disable the edit mode using the Configuration application. See here for details

I can be mistaken but either desktop command widget or queen beecon should do the trick. Have a look at the wiki here for dekstop command widget or here for queen beecon
