Hey guys just got an n900 and I wanted to flash it but wasnt working on my computer. So i just deleted all the old guys stuff manually. I then tried on my laptop to flash it and it worked everything went fine but when I turned the phone after the emmc it says missing images everywhere and now I cant use the phone, any ideas guys??? Maybe I deleted the standard images or something? Or flash went wrong?

Don't worry, your phone isn't bricked.

Have a read through the wiki a couple of times and then give it another go.

When flashing the eMMC content, the safe way is flash the eMMC/VANILLA image first, then remove battery for a moment, and then flash the FIASCO/Rootfs image. Do not boot up the device between the two i.e do NOT use the -R parameter at the end!

Hey thanks! i hope not bricked!! got it yesterday hehe
Missing images it says in the squares where buttons use to be, like the menu button and the 4 buttons when you first get device (date/regeion/time ect) were just sqaures with "missing images" written in it.
I have read it a few times =\ should I just try reflashing? At the moement im trying to reupdate the firmware via pc suite? Probably useless ay

I've not done a firmware update with PC Suite, so I'm not sure how that goes, I presume it should do the same thing. It can't harm to let it run it's course.
One word of caution if you do need to reflash, if your running Windows 64-bit there are issues. It's all in the wiki anyhow.

Its having trouble updating via pc suite, has lost connection with it twice and is taking ages after it reconnects. Maybe ill just unplug and try flash it again? Last time I did the firmware first then emmc, TMO recommends emmc first ay? I cant blow it up messing around with it can i? Yeah only 32bit

are you using the latest 1.3 image?
and no you cant blow it up. i remember MAG saying even if you filled the bootloader with 0's you can still cold boot. or maybe am remembering wrong....

Hi please do note that the n900 have 2 images needed for flashing. based on what you said you might have deleted the /home/user directory and reflashed only the fiasco image to your n900. If so you have just reflashed the system files of the n900 but not its EMMC/Internal Memory

Yea, you've got to flash eMMC first, then combined.
The eMMC image overwrites the opt/home FS, which is where those images are stored, so you managed to break it that way.
Just flash the combined image again and you'll be fine.

And the important thing is that after you've flashed emmc, you don't start n900 or try to start it before flashing the other firmware file.
