So my n900 if broke, not dead, just not useable. The screen doesn't come on anymore. The screen doesn't appear to be damaged in any way, which might be part of this problem.

Anyways, my primary concern right now is getting my data off the phone. Some files can be copied since I have SSHd installed. But other apps the data needs to be exported and i need the app running to do that.

First thought was to plug into the TV out but that gives me a mostly black screen with a little thin line of OS at the top. I can see stuff happening, so I know it as actually the desktop, but an 800x10 version of it.

Thankfully I have x11vnc installed, so I thought I could just remote to the device and voila! But strangely enough, I get the exact same output in VNC as I do from the TV out. That doesn't make much sense to me. Does this mean the screen may be fine and somehow the framebuffer is broken?

Somewhat related, all my alarms are going off since I can't silence them. Any way to kill them from the command line?
