Please refer to the N900 RescueOS which basically has the same functionality and more. The charging initrd is dead.

Initrd isn't available anymore. Instead, use the rescueOS initrd here: http://nin101.uni.cx/N900/rescueOS/ and follow the instructions in the documentation.txt. Notes about charging are at the bottom.

That site appears to have vanished... is there a mirror?
