Hi all,

I was wondering... Is there a way to map the N800 hardware zoom keys (or any other method besides manually modifying the opera.ini file) to increase and decrease the font size dynamically inside of Opera instead of just zooming in and out?

This is the default behavior in Minimo (too bad Minimo is not up to snuff yet...), and I find it far more useful than zooming alone. I have tried upping the minimum font size (16 looks awesome!), but anything over 11 corrupts the site tables on sites like dpreview.com and anandtech.com.

I've snooped around in the opera.ini and control.ini to no avail. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Frank

Anyone have any ideas on this? Fit width to view is not optimal, as some sites render way too wide in Opera to begin with. For example, try browsing the main page of www.tomshardware.com using fit width to view... Useless . Not to mention, I typically don't want to fit in the advertisements on the left and right sides of the page.

Set the minimum fontsize in opera.ini to something around 20. Makes browsing much better and then your rarely need to zoom.

Thanks for the tip. I'm trying a minimum font of 16 now & at first glance it seems to work OK.

Hi Rider,

Thanks for the tip and your response. I too have increased my font size in Opera (with the help of this forum) with some success...

Try going to www.dpreview.com. See how it mangles the table on the left hand side of the main page when your font size is set to anything higher than 11? Many other sites exhibit this sort of problem as well.

That's why I was hoping there was a way (hack?) to dynamically change the font size as needed while surfing on the N800. Just like + and - in Opera for Windows, or Control_+ and Control_- in Firefox, etc.

Any other ideas?
