Hey guys,

I am getting an n900 and was wondering the chances of this one being a real, "new" n900 -

Are counterfeits a big problem? Furthermore, is there anything I can look at once I receive one to tell it is legit.

Thanks!

Based on the description, its the real N900.

If you would like to check, A couple of tricks:

1. Check if you can connect to skype and if it is, then its the real N900.

2. Also if you are in USA, if you can connect to t-mobile 3G, then yeah, 100% confirm its legit.

3. Of course check the phone firmware , if its one of the listed on Maemo, then its legit.

Thanks, tirtawn!

I used my google machines and read up on some n900 counterfeits and this description does look legit. I'll be sure to take a look at the 3 things you mentioned when I receive the phone. Thanks, again!
