Hello people i always wanted to set wallpapers in portrait but this isnt possible even if you have a image file 480x800 when you try to set it it gets zoomed in and set as 800x480 and looks rubbish! With the new cssu16 update we got portrait desktop and hence i wanted the portrait wallpaper even more but still had the above problem! In cssu16 though we had a great new feature of having separate wallpaper for same screen one for portrait and another one for landscape but as there were issues and reboot loops for some reason this was removed from more stable cssu16.8. But still try and messing around i have finally found a way to set 480x800 images for desktop in portrait straight from our n900 all you have to do is have a portrait image 480x800 go to image viewer go to that image turn your phone 90 degrees clockwise so the image rotates and fills the full screen then open keyboard and take a screenshot by pressing ctrl+shift+p at same time once you have this screenshot go to the image in image viewer click on pull down menu and select option set as desktop image! Now you have image set in Proper portrait! This method can be used to set any image doesnt has to be 480x800 open any image then once you have rotated phone 90 degrees in image viewer zoom in to what you want image to look like then take a screenshot and set it as desktop background! There is a slight downside of this though when you set this portrait image as background its fine when your phone is in portrait but if you turn your phone into landscape the desktop image still remains in portrait and desktop plus icons now in landscape! If some how cssu team can reenable two separate images for a screen one for portrait and one for landscape this would be amazing! So there you have it! Enjoy d;-)

for some reason, I set my wallpapers normaly(without any screenshoting) and all of them work fine. They are landscape oriented. And when i flip the phone, the picture remains in the same orientation, so it doesn't loop or whatever, just stays the same.

Alfred this is not foor loopable portrait wallpapers but just normal wallpaers in portrait for instance if you have a picture of megan fox in 480 x 800 which is a portrait image full size fits n900 screen in portrait now if you rry to set this normally you would not get full picture on desktop but just a zoomed in picture which would most probably cut the original pictures top and bottom out and you can only see the middle bit on the screen! So the above method avoids this from happening!

By the way if some one can make loopable portrait pictures 480 x 800 then we would be able to use them as loopable portrait wallpapers!

there are few threads with those kinds of loopable wallpapers. Try turning your megan clockwise, and set it as a wallpaper in a lanscape editing mode. Then save it and flip ur phone
