Sorry if this is a newbie question, but I am having trouble playing wav files with media player. I have two services that email me voicemail msgs as an attachment. They both use wav files. With Gizmo everything works fine. I get my email, download the attachment and media player plays it. However, with my work system, which supposedly also uses wav files, I get an error message saying "file format not supported". Anyone have any clues on how to play these files? It would be a big help to be able to get these messages on my N800. But so far, its a no go. I've tried opening them directly into media player and also saving them first. All my desktop software programs play these files just fine. Why can't media player?

Thanks.

if you have xterm, you can use the play sound command.

Code:
play-sound file.wav
I used this to play system sounds (like the nokia start-up tune, various other system tunes...) from the N800. I have major editing plans in mind

Hope this helps!

Interesting. I cannot open WAV files either. I could probably do it in xterm, but I don't feel I should have to. Does anyone else have this problem? I'd like to open my voice messages from my IT, but I get codec not supported.
