Use built in, the only shitty with that is the numbers buttom can be hard to hit, and the Cpoy/Paste buttom on the left side is very hard to hit but I rarely us it.
Other wise, from my experince the built in works best. And its fast too.

We have to admit that original Nokia vkb looks pretty good with portrait but try to use it with only one hand - IMHO it's nearly impossible. Maybe it's possible to make an alphanumeric keyboard for portrait and leave qwerty for landscape?
But in my opinion original vkb it's have really messed up buttons. Those from FastSMS are really better
