Attached you can find the xml for greek input for the N9.

It goes in /usr/share/meegotouch/virtual-keyboard/layouts//home/user/.config/meego-keyboard/layouts/

You have to rename it to el_gr.xml of course
There is also a no dead keys variant, that has a better layout (due to the missing accent key) but in my opinion is inferior in speed, but many may be used to it because it is more like the android/iphone vkb

The question is how do you change layouts? Do you have to go to settings each time? That's a dealbreaker.

Many thanks to mikhas for the advice.

EDIT: The documentation for the maliit xml is a bit hard to find so I will hotlink to the pdf here for reference

EDIT: Now available on mesinput (ID: 214035)

Hi there, mind if I make an official patch from your contribution so that it can end up in Maliit (that's the name of the N9 VKB software)?

@Bundyo: if you are fine with contributing your layout to Maliit, sure :-) Website is here: http://maliit.org

@qwazix: Actually, custom layouts are supposed to go into /home/user/.config/meego-keyboard/layouts/ – that's where MesInput puts them, too (mesinput.com).

Sent a merge request to maliit-plugins, is this okay?

mikhas, it's fine, do that!
I have a question. Is it possible to have a key for the accent char? I mean to press first ` and then α to input ά like you do in the N900/pc instead of waiting for the alternatives to show by longpressing. That is much slower than what it was on the N900. (I realize that the current configuration is better for languages with many accents, but for Greek it's slower)

@qwazix, sounds like you're looking for dead keys. Check the French layout to see how it's done.
