can anyone tell me why I cant seem to be able to "find” updates? Not only has my n9 (chicago) not gotten the new firmware update but it also doesnt see any of the app updates. Even if I select accuweather in the store which is a later version there is no prompt only to download and then i get an error. Ideas?

I also have not been given access to the new firmware. My version is 10.2011.34-1.340.01.1_PR_340 which i think is from Denmark (Europe) but im based in the UK.

There are some threads on here which describe flashing your OS to the base version allowing updates now. Other than that its a case of waiting...

There's more than one way you can check updates for apps, not just the way you're describing.
But yes, the way you're trying I believe has been playing-up for some...

I thought the updates for apps (pre-installed ones) don't show-up until you've updated to PR1.1!?

As for why you haven't got the PR1.1 showing-up yet, is it a branded phone?
Folks in the US have been getting the OTA update prompt, but that may be because they're unbranded.

If it's a telco branded phone, IIRC you'd have to wait till the telco decides to make the image available.
Otherwise you can manually update yourself, there's several threads that document well how to do that.

That assumes it works.
I plugged mine into a Windoze machine and ran the app after the Nokia page says there is an update for mine.
The application says there isn't.

IIRC, you won't show-up in NSU if you're not listed in Navifirm yet...
So if you don't want to wait for that, you have to look at the manual flashing method/s.
It's all well outlined in several big threads about flashing/updating to PR1.1.
