Purchasing software from microsoft was never my intention. I was just asking if it was possible, but I guess not. So maemo is the only open source ARM operating system available? I guess I will have to see what Ubuntu mobile will have to offer when it is released.

Before I get flamed, I am an avid debian linux user (ubuntu) so I am not dissatisfied with maemo.... but it would be nice to take advantage of some of the more developed aspects of a windows ARM OS, like windows ce or something along those lines. I mainly want the easily downloaded gps maps and a program that will run them.

i mostly want windows apps like the developed GPS programs. I am not a programmer so I have no idea how to write a program to build gps maps for me to use on maemo mapper. for now it is just scanning around town to my most frequent locations in order to build a cache so I dont have to have internet access while on the road..... mobile internet = too much $$$

So, has anyone tried installing windows ce on this little device or am I alone here? If so, how might one go about installing it... maybe dual-booting it with maemo?
