Hi,

Would be really great if someone could help me pls.

I installed CSSU and now when phone starts all my desktop shortcuts are on top of each other, apps button is missing, and exit button is missing from apps.

If I am quick when phone starts I can press the apps button but it says "no apps", but thats not right because from desktop shortcut I can open Opera.

I have no clue why this is happening!!

Is there a way to uninstall the CSSU or boot into xterm?

I'm not an expert but if someone could give me instructions I can follow without a problem.

Thanks..hopefully!

i know your problem, you just need to apt-get install a big package but I don't remember it now. I had removed it to make rootfs space. If you are patient enough you can skim the cssu thread it has been reported a couple of times. Oh, i think its someting with theme-alpha in it.

Well thank you for your reply. I did look...will have a read again.

Actually what I think I have done is installed stable over testing.

Some time back I think I must have installed the CSSU and forgotten.... I'm an idiot. Anyway now I have to find a way to remove the stable release (I think!).

Seems like hildon-desktop is crashing, most-probably because of bad/missing transitions.ini. You can try to start xterm using ctrl-shift-x right after reboot (while hildon-desktop is still alive). Could take a couple of tries though. Once you have running xterm you can check transitions.ini in /usr/share/hildon-desktop. Also there was reports that older versions of CSSU Configuraion Application messes up transition.ini. Another thing to care of is if you have installed a theme which has its own transitions.ini. Anyway, once you have xterm running I think you should be able to solve your problem without reflashing.

Thanks, have found that folder and a few different versions of transitions.

One named .old and one named .precssu and one named .dpkg-dist

FIXED:

RESTORED THE .PRECSSU VERSION.

What I did was install a stable over a testing version. Not recommended lol!
