I have a N9 64G Austrian firmware release, and the camera no longer responds.

I have checked the kernel version is correct ( ran the reboot -u commands etc ) and I've also reflashed using winflash tna.

Are there anything I can do to check if this is a software issue or a hardware issue?

Have you tried to check the settings if the GPS is off, since the camera in its default search GPS

Fixed it, turns out I had disabled GPS :P

Re-enabling it sorted the problems

Go to Settings - Device - GPS and positioning

Then enable Device Positioning

Just had this issue myself. On holiday and had turned the gps off. It was all working fine 7 days in until today. I Had the not responding message. But if i clicked no and waited or let it run in background and came back to it it would eventually start. Very odd. I Also noticed other apps Using the camera were working ok? When i Exit the camera I'm noticing a clicking noise. I'm assuming this is the camera modules turning off. Is this normal. Glad i Found this thread. I Was getting concerned

Isn't the sound the same as when you swipe to close (not minimize) other apps?
