It'll depend how they make the UI. If it'll be Android specific - it's not portable.

Android = Tweaked Java machine on top of Linux Kernel.
Maemo/Meego/Harmattan = Linux kernel + applications + QT(c++)+blabla everything compiled for ARM and using system native resources; ie Linux (Light/Mobile) Distribution.
.: Apps for Android are binary-incompatible with N9 apps, as they are compiled for Dalvik VM (Way different from ARM), and in general use a completely different set of instructions and resources. There are some c apps for Android, but they are very few, and Android itself provides too few tools for making a C App well integrated with "the system".

Actually we've got Chromium (PC interface, version 5) running on Maemo 5 now, just the deb package has been removed for copyright violation, though I've got myself a copy from somewhere else... The interface and functions work nicely but speed is slow and you'll need an external mouse to navigate through pages. If anyone wants the package just PM me or (better) click Thanks (for I check the "thanks" once a day but seldom check PM...)

Honestly, the Firefox build does all that for me now (sync, bookmarks, etc.) and it runs decently quick on the N9 (at least not as bad as the N900.) So if you want a solution for the N9, my response is to just use FF on both desktop and mobile.

I am quite happy with the N9 browser and sometimes I use FF and Opera on my N9/N950.
But I want Chrome because the Synology disk station mobile Web interface only works on iOS and Androids. With faking the user agent i am able to use it on chromium on my desktop.

to be honest chrome for mobile is something I've wanted google to do for a while. I was just wondering, what's the potential for something like this to be ported over to run on the n9?
Don't get me wrong, I love the n9 browser, but being able to sync things between desktop and mobile would be amazing, and as I work as a front-end web developer, chrome tends to support the most things, it makes my job a whole lot easier.
