Hey Everybody !

Just got my N800 today and so far I am really loving it...I do have one question...It looks like there is already a screen protector on the N800 right from Nokia...is that right ?....There was a little sticker on the bottom left of the screen (a 1/2 stuck and 1/2 pull off sticker)..almost like to let you know that a protector is on it.

I have bought some of the ScreenGuardZ and didn't want to put it on top of the screen if there is already one on there.

Thanks for the help

Dirk

I think the Nokia-provided "screen protector" is just of the flimsy types generally used to protect LCD screens until they get in the hands of the end user. There is a thread somewhere on this forum that discusses screen protectors and I believe one user told how he did use the original protector for quite some time before it finally wore-out. Welcome to the group and have fun with your N800.

Yes, it does come with a screen protector. I left that factory protector on for 6 months of heavy usage. It was very scratched by the end (you could see wear marks along the scrollbars ), but the sceen was in perfect shape when I peeled it off to replace it with a real protector (gotta do that **** in a damn clean room O_o). You can leave it on for a while without worries. The removal tab will come off fairly easily if you do it gently.

(I'm getting fast on this thumbboard typing every post on here on it )

Hmmm... I didn't realize there was a screen protector installed already. I bought another, and put it over the original. That works fine, so the screen must be pretty damn sensitive.

I'm going to order the correct one, and get it done right, but _sheesh_ they coulda said something.
