I'm getting this message whenever I try to download and install an app from the Nokia Store:

"Can't install. Installation package not found."

There is something up with my N9 as there is no problem with my wife's on the same network. I tried "Restore settings" under Settings > Reset but this didn't help.

Something wrong with the package repositories I expect. Any ideas?

use terminal to install:

1) log in as root and then use dpkg -i <filename>

That workaround is only good for packages that I have already downloaded. I want to install from the Nokia Store (it's a paid app) and anyway I'd like to fix the problem.

then it could be one of two things:

you need to reboot (which i presume you've already done since you restored settings)

- the app might have not been packaged correctly leading to this issue. Nokia QA do screw up at times so its not totally unexpected.

Maybe you'd like to share the app's name for others to try.

Thing is, as I said, on my wife's N9, on the same network, there is no problem to install the same apps. And I can't install a single thing from the Nokia Store on my N9. Not one thing. Problem is screwed up settings somewhere on my N9. I'm thinking the repositories.

Hi,

unfortunately I'm having the exact same issues. Tried to download Tweetian via Nokia Store, but I get the "installation package not found" error. When I try to install via .deb and Filebox, I simply get "Installation failed - retry?"... Tried other apps too with the same error messages. Those errors came suddenly out of nowhere, everything worked fine for months now. Any ideas/help on this, please? I'm pretty desperate :/ rebooting didn't work either.. Thanks in advance..

if you want to install the .deb don't use filebox but use terminal:

dpkg -i /path/to/tweetian.deb

Also after the above try apt-get autoremove and apt-get update and post if anything abnormal appears...

Hi,

thanks for your help. When I try to install Tweetian (hss.deb) that way, Terminal spits out the following...

The error shows there is no /home/user/MyDocs/Downloads/hss.deb

Are you sure the path is correct?

The apt-get update error is not right...Could you pls get me an english version of it?

I changed the language to english, getting the following error:

E: Could not open lock file /var/lib/apt/lists/lock - open (2: no such file or directory)
E: Unable to lock the list directory
