KMPlayer is found in the Maemo site under media
applications inprogress. Has someone sucessfully installed
KMPlayer,or MPlayer and thus streamed directly to their
770: video files of quicktime, and/or wmv?

I'd love to see either player ported to the 770 ASAP - the restrictions of the built-in player are too much to even believe... even though the resolution of files may be limited by the hardware horsepower, just avoiding the whole 'multiple-of-16' sizing issue would make converting movies and shows so much easier, if only for the fact that they would retain proper aspect ratio!
