You will find your notes in the calendar. Just open calendar, tap on the top menu bar (Month YYYY triangle) and choose "Zu Notizen wechseln" ("switch to notes").
The notes are stored internally in the /home/user/.calendar/calendar.db, if you need to access them via SQL.

Thanks. I guess I was too quick. I stumbled upon Go to Tasks somehow, but managed to miss Notes. 
Maybe also because I was focusing on the Notes app and was sure that it should be a series of editable files somewhere in Documents.
