Hi guys. I'm bout to try to flash my Nokia N9 that my friend gave me. This is my first time doing something like this so please bear with me. I have followed all the rules to download everything on the flasher thread. The only thing though is the phone is off. Can I still try to run all this information on a phone that's not on?

ok, so i got one answer. Heres the next...
my sim trey says 059L698...
so on NaviFirm i downloaded 40.2012.21.3 then got my variant.
then i downloaded the two dfl61 check boxes and downloaded. One thing though. I got this phone with it powered off. So would using the 40.2012.21.3 make a differece if its not a match with the phone.

you can use any little pretty pony you like.
my advice:
download and use the global variant pr1.3.
thats these two files:
DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.13-7.NOMAPS_EMMC_NOMAPS.bin
DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.21-3_PR_LEGACY_001-OEM1-958_ARM.bin
it might fail and say the version youre trying to flash doesnt work. if that happens, then try the variant for your phone.

if you do a higher version {005}, you cant do a lower version afterwards {001}.
if you do a lower one, you CAN do a higher one afterwards.
the 001 is the least restricted, so start there.

Just out of curiosity, what happens when you do try to power the handset on? Also... Has the phone been charged (via a wall socket) recently?

minkin2 is trying to find out if the phone is completely broken, or if it wont take a charge.
in either of those two cases, flashing it obviously wont help.
