Should I download them or wait till the repos are up and running? Any ideas when the repos will be up? next week? next month?
It would be better that you wait for the public-repos are up again. Only download the "apps" you really need.

I am trying to install several app from repos but some of them are giving me missing dependencies. How can I get those missing files.

Tried to install via xterminal, sudo gainroot and I get
Package libxaw7 is not available, but is referred to by another package. Package Libxaw7 has no installation candidate.
Do I need to update my kernel?
