Well, I think there's a possibility my N950 has become a black paperweight. Maybe someone here has some insight as to what might be wrong and how to go about fixing it?

I was using my N950 as usual to stream some music via bluetooth in my car, paused that and got out and went into a shop to purchase some groceries. When I get back to my car, it appeared to be dead and completely unresponsive.

Thus far the only thing it will do are when plugged into a computer or charger and are as follows:

• Power LED blinks once (most common)
• Power LED stays solid
• Power LED blinks at about 4hz

Obviously pressing any of the buttons hasn't done anything. I've also tried pulling the battery and that didn't help either. I read up on bad things happening when the battery level gets too low, but it didn't reach power save mode when I had last used it. When plugged into a computer, the CLI flashing utility doesn't recognize it either. Not sure if it matters, but it's on PR1.3.

Anyone have any thoughts?

If the battery is of concern, for the N950 you should be able to remove it using the screws at the back. Are you able to charge this battery using an external charger, or have you got another battery of the same type to replace it with?

What CLI flashing tool are you using?
The one provided by Nokia for N950 will not work if you're on PR1.3.

Try getting the flashing tool for N9 and run "flasher -i": http://wiki.maemo.org/Flashing_N9
Obviously don't flash with N9 ROM! (Just a remainder)

I have already removed the back cover and pulled the battery. I can get another locally, but a charger I'd have to order off the internet. Might have to report back after I've tried that.

As for the flasher, I indeed used the N9 one and exactly with that flag since that only pulls the firmware info (which I verified as working because it recognized my N9). I stopped using the N950 oneclickflasher utility after I upgraded from PR1.2 to PR1.3 in December.

you should put the phone in the charger and just wait about 5-10minutes
after that, hold down the power button for like 10 seconds, that should do the trick

Unfortunately that didn't do anything either.

My N950 went to a similar state this week. Eight hours on charger did not help. But a new battery did! It's fully working again.

I don't know of the N950 but can it be charged via Flasher Tool Like the N9? Maybe that would do the trick.

Pop a new battery in it should work.

For the N950 to be completely dead it wouldn't respond at all to anything.

I got the same issue and the flasher trick doesn't work for me as it doesn't even get recognized by the computer, so the flasher won't put it in charge mode.
