Information:

Tox is on my mer repository for SailfishOS (Jolla).

https://build.merproject.org/package...e:nielnielsenl

You can add this repository with

Code:
# zypper ar -G http://repo.merproject.org/obs/home:...latest_armv7hl sailfish_latest_armv7hl
You need toxcore-master, toxcore-master-ntox and libsodium

No native GUI, but nTox -commandline version, see https://wiki.tox.im/NTox is avaliable.

Edit: I now only need a few friends :P
Edit: Added myself as a friend (YEAH) see pic (GUI is from my Debian Box, shell window is Jolla CLI)

Added toxic client as an alternative to nTox. toxic, is ncurses based and a bit more user friendly.

Very interesting. Did you check the idle power consumption?

There was some kind of flaw in the design, as discussed here: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...2&postcount=23

Tox is nodes-based network, you should live with it's network usage and battery consumption caused by it.

Price of being online
Been testing it, by having it running for a while. I cant confirm that it does serious battery drain. My device still lasts well above a full day.
My battery drainage is usually caused by compiling stuff on-device :P

Tox works with nodes, like tor. You can start your own node. https://wiki.tox.im/Run_a_node
