My N900 is slowing down so today i've tried to upgrade again the cssu-thumb, as i noticed the update in FAM. I made the normal procedure, made a backup with backupmenu and then 'upgrade all' in FAM, but it gave an error: 'conflicting or broken package'.
This is the log:

Quick reply...

Did you try '# aptitude update' and '# aptitude upgrade'?

Bumping...

Best wishes.

You need to install aptitude first. It is not on by default. But hold your horses, you may not need it. I do not use it myself and lived quite happily without it for al these years.

My first line of defence in your case would be to try to install the offending package independently. It looks like it has some second-level dependency that is not satisfied. Try running this as root in Terminal:

Code:
apt-get install gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-extra

Neither this works... This is the output:

Nokia-N900:~# apt-get install gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-extra
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-extra is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it:
gstreamer0.10-plugins-good
E: Package gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-extra has no installation candidate

List repositories that you have enabled. Maybe you forget about one of them?

Anyway, mp-fremantle-community-pr is just dummy dependency-puller package. You could as well install all it's dependencies separately - still, i suggest getting to the root of problem, first.

Estel beat me to it. Did you disable Nokia repositories by any chance?

Yes, in FAM all default Nokia repos are diaabled, there are only extras/extras-testing/extras-devel and cssu repos. Now i'm trying with HAM also if it's terribly slow...

Edit: SOLVED AND UPDATED, thank you guys!

Mine is complaining about a missing fmtx-middleware
(>= 0.6.5). I have 0.6.2 installed.

I think I have the nokia repositories:

deb https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/002 ./
deb https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle1.2/ovi/ ./
