I have a male usb b connector wired to a standard male usb which is also wired to a usb extender. All these three are wired together. The male usb b is going into the nokia 770 , the standard male usb is going to a mains usb charger and the usb extender i plug my wired usb packardbell keyboard into.

Here are some images.

Everything Unplugged

Everything Plugged Up

3 Usb's Wired Together (sorry this picture is abit blurry)

Usb Power Supply

So should this work??

I have tried plugging it in and nothing happens do i need to install a plugin or something please help me.

Thanks

TBF

These have got to be the biggest blurry pics of something I've ever seen on this forum. AFAIK the IT's don't support usb host out of the box. You'll need to install a hacked kernel to make if maybe work.

SEARCH! It's probably already been answered.

You are reinventing the wheel. There are entire threads from over a year ago on how to hook up USB stuff to the 770 - with details and schematics instead of huge, useless blurry pics, and also what you need to do on the system side. Just use search.

I installed this VNC server on my N770:

and have a keyboard (+ monitor + mouse) for $0.00.

Works like a charm,

Don.

Your title leads one to believe that you had this up and running - you clearly don't.

There are existing threads about this subject. You have to load some modules and tell the USB controller to work in Host mode. Use search with keywords "770 usb host modules" to find out how.

I am getting mixed reads on the cable used for the device. Is it http://www.bixnet.com/5vps2powercord.html the right cable or http://www.bixnet.com/usbcawibuba.html ???

Also will any USB keyboard work?
