I know .. I know...
YACV (yet another chess variant)
But this one is vastly different.
And I'm curious if it would be possible to adapt such a concept to the maemo line.
-Back in the early 1980's a chess game variant came out...
(I know ...so what?)

-it allowed up to 4 players and all their pieces
(yet again ..4 player chess...so what?)

and right there is where the differences and expectations ended.

I bought this game way back when ..and loved it.

-there were 9 chess boards to use...so 1 to 9 boards could be used...which could be lined up...set up in just about any conceivable configuration the mind could dream up.
-back in the day ...when I was in university I came up with the grand idea to photocopy more of the boards and hence have a "Super-Board" ...we got like 50 people playing...it was a grand...mad...mad...slaughter
but I digress.

-to add ...to pique your interest even further...there had to be just a couple of piece-movement-rule adaptations ...to accommodate ..
the terrain features...
which impeded, slowed, or allowed for natural movement.
Lakes, forests, rivers, bridges, cobbled roads, ruined fortresses and keeps...
So one could easily lay-out a monstrous map with winding rivers through the terrain.
In all it is a uniquely fabulous game.
here are a couple pics ..
and the basic rules for piece movement.

I wonder just how troublesome it would be to make something really monsterously participatory like this for our devices...
the fight would be absolutely epic...
rooks, queens and bishops flying across multiple boards to kill literally from a distance...whilst the pawns slug through woods and water....
I think it would make for a grand game for our devices..
oh yea..

given enough time and resources, it's easy (just time consuming). ai would require someone knowledgeable.
