Here are my reasons for looking for alternatives to N9:
a) Hardware - It is 5 years since N9 design, there are much better cpus now.
b) Availability - I'm not sure how long since the last one was made but if you can find a new or good used genuine non-scam N9 for a reasonable price then please let me know.
That's all really, otherwise I would probably get another N9. !

a) It's five years old design but it's modern, still good, beats up most of samsung up-to-date devices
b) n900 and n9 are still comes out from factories, you can buy new unit right now, even the price is reasonable
And so, nothing to be ashamed of, just get another n9
That means I need to order it's replacement in the next days. Jolla in Australia is expensive. Alternatives under consideration are fairphone, and a nexus5 with sailfish.
I'm looking for serious suggestions for a non-mainstream smartphone solution that won't spy on me (nothing to hide, just the principle).
I'm seriously considering doing some (little) hal development and debugging but without getting very involved in the community (kids, work, and music take all my time for now). Getting a fairphone2 to run Sailfish seems like a good outcome, obtaining a Jolla sounds like a close second.
Adam.
