Hello,

As stated in the title I can't browse https://community.letsencrypt.org/ on my N900 because I get a message saying "Unfortunately, your browser is too old to work on this site. Please upgrade your browser."

I installed HideUserAgent to try and change the useragent but it still doesn't work (I get the same message) which makes me think that they don't use the useragent to detect the device.

Also on some sites (like http://www.commitstrip.com/) I get a white page without the content (tried with and without HideUserAgent).

Is there a fix to this?

No thanks... I still love my N900.

It's a software issue, I don't think it has something to do with hardware (?!?)

Just checked with eww in emacs and works.
You can also try Easy Debian and use pre-installed Iceweasel. I currently recommend using surf for browsing with Easy Debian though. It works pretty well and is a lot faster than Iceweasel.

For as bleak as it sounds, the reality is that our beloved devices are aging, and this kind of situations will become more and more frequently.

Aging device can affect how fast the page will load. There is nothing we can do about that.
Malakai's problem is definitely software related. That is, at least in theory, fixable.

I agree and disagree
There is currently no up-to-date browser for Fremantle, and there is a fair chance that will never happen.

Still enough alternatives though if you are willing to spend some time investigating how they work and accept the absolute lack of user/noob-friendliness. Luckily that is compensated by this friendly community

As already mentioned Surf with Easy Debian is working very nicely.

That's why I said "in theory". I have no illusions about reality.

I had Easy Debian installed on my previous N900, I iked it very much and played with it, but it is kind of an overkill to start a chroot just to visit a web page.
I will surely install it on my current N900 too when I will have the time for it, but I don't think it's a reasonable solution to the problem.

Just try different browser (usable browser not giant iceweasel): opera mobile, opera mini 8, qml webkit browsers.
