Good to see others porting good rpgs. I'm kind of just porting python games right now and found a simple rpg called DragonHunt that only takes up around 1.3 megs installed.

More info and screenshots from original developer's site here :
http://emhsoft.com/dh.html

I had to disable sound (maybe someone can tell me why mixer.init fails), and it runs full screen at 640x480 (i tried 800x480 but there was annoying screen refresh issue).

There were two campaigns in original (Dark Ages and Dragon Hunt) but i removed Dark Ages because the load times were veryy long... it did appear to have more in depth story though so if anyone is interested that campaign can be made available.

There is a delay when entering buildings... just walk into doors and wait while interior loads.

The FullScreen button on top on Nokia is mapped to inventory... Fullscreen, dpad, dpad enter, and esc are all the keys you should need. You can save game too with on screen buttons... but there is just one save kept... be certain you want to overwrite before you do.

Setup package here :

So far so good. If you can make the Dark Ages campaign available as an optional dep package install, that would be cool.
Not a bad game...slow as hell when starting out though.

Looks really good work there. One problem I found is that you can't bring up the virtual keyboard to change your characters name.

Hi, seems like you need python first installed - which I can seem to do ... yet.
I asked for help here:

I have gone to python page here:
http://pymaemo.garage.maemo.org/installation.html
and tried to install both files following instructions.

I think maybe OS 2006 needs a different version, but can't find the versions listed for download or instructions - any ideas?
The error message is something like "install failed" or can't install - it downloads the file but fails on the install in the applic. manager.

Did you click to install the base repository link (link above install python) before clicking to install python. Problem is packages in one repository can depend on packages in a different repository. Installing the base repository first allows the subsequent (main) installer to find bits and pieces across its newfound expanded repository-territory.

If thats not it, then :

Uninstall all python programs (like dragonhunt, etc), -then- uninstall python itself. If during the uninstall process, programs still depend on it it might not uninstall correctly.

Then make sure you have this repository in your application catalog :

Web address http://repository.maemo.org/
Distribution mistral
Components free non-free

(Even though you are running gregale, it seems this http://maemo.org/community/wiki/appl...746c1b70fda281 page indicates thats the repo you want)

Then try installing python again. If it still doesnt install you might need to uninstall any suspected python apps and -then- uninstall python.

Python is usually the first thing i install because of dependency issues. If its really stopping you from using other programs, reflash then install base repo link and then python link from the python page.

Dont think so, i'm not sure how python -binds- to libraries either.

So even if i could build the library, i dont how i would get python to see it (bind to it).

Wow this game is awesome, kind of reminds me of the Kyle's Quest 2 stuff I played on my Palm a while back. About how long is this game? Also, I agree, any extra optional levels would be great.

Please, keep the games coming, there aren't enough good ones for the internet tablets.

First of all, thank you so much for the port! The IT is perfect for these small games. I wish/hope more RPGs get ported.

NOW my question, is there an obvious end to the game? I think I completed the quest yet, I'm not sure if I'm done. No one said thank you or congrats...nada.

Sadly i gave up on it at that same point. Ran out of stuff to try although there was still an area i couldnt get into (missing key) so i was thinking it had something to do with that.

I suppose the author could be contacted at his address at bottom of this page : http://emhsoft.com/index.html

Then again, there is a possibility the game just doesn't end well (or at all)
