That's being discussed on TJC, too, at the moment. AFAIK the court rulings are only vaild in cases in which the software hasnt been installed before ("surplus licenses").

You have either not read or not understood the article the OP linked to in the first post.

Also, what software you use on Sailfish is pretty much up to you.

I looked for the exact link but didn't find it, but IIRC James commented on blog.jolla.com that it's most likely we'll have to wait until 2018.

It's very unlikely, but just as a reminder: In 2014 they released Vaarainjärvi on Dec 18th. So... never say never. :)
