If you haven't done so already you have to enable the wake on lan option on your motherboard.
I don't think your mouse and keyboard have anything to do with it

I would also recommend "washing" your device with deionized/distilled water as soon as possible after having dropped it into any other water, and if you get it to work again, backing up everything...

When I select New IM, apparently the only contacts that come up for me are IM contacts, these are just googletalk and MSN contacts.
If I receive an SMS from GV I am able to reply to the SMS easily...

ok so I realized that fsck placed the recovered sectors into two files called FSCK0000.REC and FSCK0001.REC.
These two added up to the missing space of approximately 1GB.
