Re: Some wonderful news considering N900, MeeGo, PR 1.3 and other good stuff

You folks spinning for Nokia after they have basically said screw N900 users since launch are funny. Flash 10.1 costs NO fees, but does require collaboration between the OEMs and Adobe. Nokia did...

Re: Samsung Galaxy Tab Info Thread

I was waiting on the Tab, but went ahead and ordered the Archos 101 for $333 delivered from J&R Electronics.

1. 10" 1024X600 capacitive display
2. Froyo with Flash 10.1
3. 1ghz 3640 arm 8

Re: Flash 10.1x on N8

100% correct!

Tweak also does not work like it did a few weeks ago. Even using it, I get "Need Flash" on sites. Same thing that slowly happened when sites started looking for Flash 10.1 a few...

Re: VLC Player Officially coming

Seems an awful lot of work to get a resource hungry app to work on a two year old portable chipset. Not to mention needs OC to play decent and that means short battery life.

None the less, your...

Re: N900 vs samsung galaxy s

VZW version has Flash Lite 4.1, which plays most Flash 10 content, but at about 50% the efficiency of Flash 10.1. I was surprised how much better 10.1 was. I expected relative results I got from...

Unhappy Re: Firmware 1.3 on its way????

With all of the focus on the new devices, key management changes, why on earth would 1.3 be coming out anytime soon? Even when Nokia had semi-focus on the N900, they lagged in their efforts.

Nokia...

The N900's one glaring failure....

After messing around with the EVO and it's amazing kickstand (made of metal and actually supports the device correctly), I can safely state that the N900's kickstand is the poorest, cheapest,...

Re: IS Nokia Aware of the PR 1.2 problems

In people's defense that do post here with complaints, Maemo seems to be far too easy to mess up and the speed and efficiency advantages used to accept this caveat appear to have been trumped by...

Re: Flash video playback problems with pr 1.2

Flash and Youtube are not exactly the same thing and not apple to apple for comparison. As pointed out, most major sites are changing over to check for Flash 10, even if some of the content is not...

Flash performance worse, same or better with 1.2?

Stopped using my N900 as a phone (on Verizon now) so use my N900 as a media, MAME, console emulator and Flash game player.

I do not even use the browser on wifi now, since a lot of Flash sites...

Re: So it begins, Flash sites are updating to Flash 10 now

1. What does HTML5 have to to do with Flash 10.1 probably not releasing to the N900? Seperate issues, me thinks and HTML5 has its own resource hogging ways as well.

2. The Flash 10.1 beta needs...

Smile So it begins, Flash sites are updating to Flash 10 now

With Flash 10, Flash Lite 4 that is Flash 10.1 compliant and full 10.1 rolling out right now with Android, sites appear to be updating and blocking anything less than Flash 10. Some video and game...

Re: Coming from the N900 what phone are you moving to?

I went to the Incredible:

I only used my N900 for a few weeks as a phone, since the GSM radio is much weaker than my G1. No signal with N900 in areas where I get one to two bars with G1 in Ky. ...

Re: Speculation about PR1.2

The delay is likely do to a lack of resources dedicated to Maemo 5. There is no ROI for Nokia to continue putting updates out for the N900. 1.2 is probably a very small team and will be the last...

Re: Adobe Flash Player 10: When will the update arrive?

If you go by Nokia's CEO and his recent statements to investors:

"We are focussing on the Symbian OS and putting it in as many devices as possible". Sounds to me they are off in another direction...

Re: Adobe Flash Player 10: When will the update arrive?

Droid uses the 3430 and has already been shown by Adobe with 10.1. Droid is confimed to be getting Flash 10.1 with Android 2.2 in just a few months. 3430 would not be the issue. Especially since...

Re: Is PR1.2 RC disappointing?

Ditto :) How can we judge an unreleased product, unless this IS the final product? Respectfully, anyone that complains about it after installing an unreleased version is a tad on the silly side.

Re: N900 still getting Flash 10.1?

HTML 5 has the same quirks, but for (mainly- some similar) different technical reasons ;)

BTW, Mr. Jobs seems like a tool to me.

What is different with Maemo compared to Android that requires a more complex process for overclocking? On the Droid, you simply install the kernel and...

Re: Overclock the N900?

Same thing on Droid- 1.1ghz appears to be the ceiling of the 3430.

IMO, 800mhz is the best compromise, since significantly better performance than 600mhz and much less of a chance for device...

Have you tried any OC action yet, or plan to?

BTW, lower volt kernels are already proven to work on the 3430 (Droid). There are three different types of volt-level kernels and different clock...

Re: Overclock the N900?

OC observations after 2 days at 800mhz kernel (no DSP OC)

1. Conky is our friend, since provides us insight :)
2. Built in media player is a resource hog (50 to 60% playing 160kb MP3?!)
