Smile Re: Emergency warning support?

It it can be accessed over dbus that would open a way to create a simple app that could display such warnings.

Yes, a full integration into the OS would be better but waiting for Jolla to...

Re: Emergency warning support?

I've found an interesting article about Cell Broadcast (or lack thereof) in the UK and how it could be used as an Emergency Alert Platform.

Re: Emergency warning support?

Have you tried subscribing to the dbus service? Would be interesting to see if ofono is receiving the broadcasts and there just isn't anything that processes them further or they're not received at...

Re: Emergency warning support?

There are provisions in ofono to support this type of broadcasts but they're either not used in SFOS or the type of broadcast you've been supposed to receive works in a different way.

Re: Help a firefighter - trigger alarm.mp3 by monitoring incoming e-mails

I've used them in a few projects over the years, largely als a receiver/transmitter for various devices operating on 433 MHz.
E.g. as an Internet-enabled thermostat for the furnace etc.

Could...

Re: Help a firefighter - trigger alarm.mp3 by monitoring incoming e-mails

I guess today one could maybe do this with a cheap SDR USB stick and a Raspberry Pi.

Re: Purism Librem Phone

I don't have to re-read anything, it was kind of meant that way, maybe written a little more bitter than Jolla would deserve but still sadly true.

I don't know how focusing on (Russian) government...

Re: Purism Librem Phone

You mean abandoned by you?

Jolla is focusing on governments and corporations for quite a while now because the community was not able to sustain them so I guess for SFOS itself nothing will change...

Re: Pure Maps

I agree it seems to be easier for this to be implemented in the plugin as it would not requite changing anything in the main program.

But I haven't used the POI API yet so it's not entirely clear...

I guess I will have to postpone it until I find some more time.
It looks like copying the stadia router as a base to start from does not work as easily as I've hoped.

Looks like the routers don't...

Re: Pure Maps

The search (not autocomplete search) with the HERE backend seems to be quite useful. I'm glad I it does actually honor house numbers, which is important if they're four digits or more.

Not a particularly beautiful photo but quite colorful and taken in difficult light conditions on a XA2+ with piggz-o-vision. GIMP to crop out crowds, no other effects used.

Re: Pure Maps

It also seems that HERE have different APIs for looking up street addresses and for POI.

Means entering "Starbuck's" into the search field won't work right now.

Would it be...
