Re: Maemo + Moblin = MeeGo
GeraldKo: getting apps ready, particularly that take advantage of new framework ideas and features, takes a good deal of time, and the earlier you start the better.

Re: Holy **** - €50 to register to publish to Ovi?
For my own apps, that's one thing. For a repackaged community app (e.g. gnumeric in my case) or just those who want to enable donations to a worthy cause, how about providing an easy way to hook the...

Re: Ovi Suite for Linux?!
If true, that's unfortunate. Not only does Linux have greater share of desktop PCs than Apple (says Microsoft anyway), the percentage is almost certainly much higher under developers. Let alone the...

Ovi Suite for Linux?!
Umm, it's great that there's Ovi Suite for Windows, and "Coming Soon" for Mac. What about us Linux users? Are you seriously tying your users into your competitors' cash cows?

Re: Xournal for Fremantle
"I'll probably backport it to Diablo once the Fremantle version is finished"
I'd very much appreciate this. It's uncertain when, if ever, I'll be able to get an n900.

Re: Higher-res screen?
Right, then we have a plan: we will have to meet over beers at a future maemo event (if I can ever get to one). :)
I have a Canon S2; it may or may not be able to address this. Only...

Re: Higher-res screen?
Well, a Nokiite sez that the OMAP3430 doesn't have the memory <-> GPU bandwidth for 1024x768, so the idea is pretty dead for the n900 (which is true anyway). Perhaps not for later versions, however.

Use MediaBox. It is your friend. It supports all of the tags, so you can sort it as you like.
Just the platform's media player experience is ... lacking.
Perhaps I just keep installing the wrong...

Re: Unmounting internal mmc? "in use"
You can use lsof to find which applications have various files open.
If it's not already installed, you may need to install it (should be apt-get install lsof).
Then you enter in the following...
