Re: Jolla battery life greatly affected by an NFC bug

No, that only stops the service now... Check my post on page 2 in this thread and leave out '--runtime' (as mentioned) If You want it to persist across reboots... ;)

I wouldn't personally do that,...

Re: Jolla battery life greatly affected by an NFC bug

You have to change to root first... :)

First set user (nemo) password:

Settings -> System Settings -> Developer mode -> Tick 'Remote Connection' and set a new password and press 'Save'...

Re: Jolla battery life greatly affected by an NFC bug

I don't quite understand how that should prevent the NFC receiver from using precious power...? :)

It just prevents it from connecting to the NFC tag on the Other Half... :)

Re: Jolla battery life greatly affected by an NFC bug

If You want to disable TOHC service only until next reboot You can add --runtime to the 'mask' command... ;-)

systemctl mask --runtime tohd.service; systemctl stop tohd.service

Re: [Council] Maemo 5 gets community OS updates

That doesn't make sense.

I would remove the file with:

root
rm /etc/apt/preferences

Re: Adobe Flash Player 10: When will the update arrive? Is it coming at all?

Seriously... STOP WHINING! :)

Flash 10 from TI isn't a step up compared to using a tweaked Flash 9.4.

99% of people here just need "Flash 10 functionality" to see YouTube links on FaceBook...

Re: Nokia N900 Criticism

Besides not having Flash 10 (I just use the Tweak Flash to "pretend" to have Flash 10 which works on YouTube and FaceBook), I don't see all the problems that people complain about.

To me it seems...

Re: root password

Here's a guide for getting "Ubuntu-like sudo behaviour":

Create the new sudo rule:

root
echo "user ALL=(ALL) ALL" > /etc/sudoers.d/custom-user.sudoers
update-sudoers

Set user password:

No need to backup the original... ;)

If You need to reinstall run this:

Re: [Announce] FreOffice 0.2-8 - KOffice based Document Editor released !!!!

Re: [Announce] FreOffice 0.2-8 - KOffice based Document Editor released !!!!

Just tried removing dbus-switchboard, and FreOffice, rebooted, re-installed FreOffice, rebooted.

.ods and .odt files still aren't associated with FreOffice.

You must have triggered something...

Re: fCamera and Titans kernel...

It's still in -devel.

Make sure You have enabled extras-devel in Application Manager (and close the App Manager after that), open an Xterm and write:

root
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade...

Re: Update for Enhanced kernel for power users just released

It's not. I'm using the Power Kernel (.45) and it works just as good as with the stock kernel. Those problems might be caused by something else.
