Re: N900 was(is) not the Only MAEMO phone meet N500 & Friends :)

What's with all the "it's not real Maemo" posts: could those device makers legally download and install Maemo on their phones? If not, then why not? Wasn't Maemo supposed to be open? If we had it...

Re: Dell Releases What n900 Should Have Been (Dell Streak)

That's such an idiotic argument. Why can't you hold something you think is ugly up to your ear?

Re: Socially Disruptive Mobile Phone Technology for 2012

I was stuck in an airplane for six hours two weeks ago, and was thinking about a peer-to-peer WiFi network that could connect all passengers with smartphones and allow for various social activities....

Re: So today I found out one reason why android sucks. :)

Fair enough, but you can't say that Android sucks just because it doesn't behave as you expect. There is logic in suspending processes when the window is in the background.

Maybe you should have kept on reading until you developed some sense of humor.

As to fragmentation, I have seen none on my Dell Streak...

Re: So today I found out one reason why android sucks. :)

Same here...

I should just say that I have myself found dozens of reasons to complain about Android, but they are comparable to what Maemo or iOS users complain about as well, so I have come to...

Re: The future of Mobile technology

I can think of a few more buttons that I like to push... the results are VERY variable though, depending on the owner of the buttons (and her mood). :D

Re: The Epic Android Thread

I will surely miss this community a lot. I follow many of the formerly active TMO members on Twitter, but it's not the same.

Your post prompted me to change my signature.

Re: The future of Mobile technology

All this talk about "intuitive" and "gestures" is baloney. Buttons are discrete and achieve a pre-determined outcome. They are predictable and reliable. Making devices more "humanized" means making...

Re: n800 died time to replace but with wat?

Re: n800 died time to replace but with wat?

I'm sorry but I don't follow; what exactly did you use to do with the N800 that Android 2.2 won't be able to do? Why do you need to update to 3.0? If you were fine with a four-year old device, why...

Wow, what a comeback, I am speechless.

@gerbick: The hoax telling us exactly what we like to hear (improbable as it was) made it as successful as it was.

I am the sort of person that generates PDFs with one application, annotates them with another, and reads with a third.

Re: Microsoft is the plague: Nokia stock drops 14% as 1,000 employees walk out

Well, HP already bought Palm, so they probably don't want Nokia, but wouldn't it be fun if Intel used all of its liquid assets to acquire a control package of Nokia's shares, and then fired the...

Which goes to show that the market trusted in Nokia's previous strategy so that the stock went up during those 6 months, and dislikes the new one

Re: Maybe the unpleasant truth is that MeeGo really was too late and/or not good enough?

Thank you for this question, patlak, for it catalyzed (or joined ;) an epiphany regarding the situation in my (aching, thick) head.

There are indeed two points of view here -- that of the end...
