Yes, restarting the device works of course (that's what I do at the moment). I don't need to take out the battery as I can still use the device, it's just the shortcuts/widgets that are no longer...

#1 I read in the manual somewhere that once you choose a mode you can't change it without reconnecting, but if you start in charge only you can change it to mass media/pc suite while still connected...
