When have you installed PR1.3 version? I made some modifications to it and some fixes so downloading it again and installing it again may fix your problem.

regions are only related to frequency restrictions and default preemphasis settings, things that caused "fm transmitter disabled" is quite simple - i was using fmtxd binary patched by fmtx-faker as...

I just uploaded new better version that only requires change of /usr/sbin/fmtxd and will automatically set region to 4

You don't even imagine how much interference you can get from one small 50nW transmitter in place where signal is weak - you can interfere with radios in ~100m radius with a bit of luck.

It has nothing to do with power regulators in car chargers - it's design of fmtxd to reduce power or disable transmitter depending on usb cable/charger/headphones state

to install version from extras-devel you have to remove libxss manualy as it's replaced by libxss1 - and package is in repository (http://maemo.org/packages/view/chromium/)

as person who built these packages i can confirm that chromium is fully optified and libxss creates 3 symlinks in /usr/lib ( libraries are in /opt )
only reason to have less space on rootfs would...

You can try to use libxss from extras-devel ( dependencies are probably broken, but package will work with some --force )
