Anyone who doubts the usefulness of VoiceOver type solutions should pay more...

Oh jeez,

Fixed it anyway, when I found that a seperate copy of the driver files "just worked"

The main part of the problem: Somehow I'd ended up with 0-byte .ko files, somewhere along the way...

Any way to catch requests for network, for power saving?

Since I use autodisconnect on my n900, my wifi interface tends to be off whenever an app makes a request, and so most of my data transfers get initiated over 3G.
