Almost any would do, as long as it has more modern hardware and in particular more memory than the old...

Yes and the sad thing is that the UI of SailfishOS 2 is very suited to tablets. Perhaps even more than to phones.
It would work better on more modern hardware with more memory than the Jolla...

I also don't need a tablet, but it's a useful separate device. I use it for Spotify (yeah that's Android I know) using Bluetooth to my speakers in my living room and in my kitchen to look up...
