Re: [ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
The only thing I'm pretty sure of is that it's not something about MIME.
Blaming MAFW is just a guess after having a quick look at it. The symptoms are like those of a problem I had to deal with...

I'm sorry for being absent for so long, but still I was able to make a few changes to OMP here an there. Unfortunately not many, but so much time has passed since the last update that I'm pushing a...

Re: Real Firefox on N900
Iceweasel can be used via Easy Debian, but it's slow cow. Chromium with "grab and drag" like extensions works well, on the other hand.
Of course, everything is faster that Fennec, yet, it's slower...

[ANNOUNCE] Alpha release of Open Media Player
Open Media Player is a full free open source rewrite of the stock mediaplayer.
While I started the project, my current free time slowed down updates a lot, so OMP is currently maintained by gidzzz....

Check out the Fcron wiki page
http://wiki.maemo.org/Fcron
It has scripts to turn off and on wifi, I think you could use these with dbus-scripts as well.
So I think you would run a script to...

Re: Problem with missing dependencies
Your package dependencies are wrong, cups does not the development packages to run. What do you have in the
Depends:, Build-Depends: lines in your debian/control file ?

Re: Problem with missing dependencies
The dependencies aren't in extras, which is why you're getting the error - they're in the SDK repository. You'll need to upload them to extras-devel in order to resolve the error.

Re: Promotion how?
It might be because it is not a user-visible category. If you promote a package that depends on this that is user visible, it should be pulled in automatically

Re: Too few libraries
If a package gets promoted all dependencies are promoted too indeed. That's because a package can't be promoted to extras if one or more of it's dependencies can't be promoted to extras. Confusing...

Re: Tracker and nowatch
That is normal, adding a directory to the nowatch list makes files in that folder not appear in the media player, but files in subfolders will still be indexed.

Re: Keep display light on
There is no direct way to do this.
The simple brightness applet sets up a timer and calls
osso_display_state_on (plugin->priv->osso_context)
every 50 seconds.
