You need to install, for instance, PrecenceVNC to theN900 and you have to run a vnc server on your PC. My guess is that remote desktop on windows is enough, but i am not too sure about that. You...

The sound you're looking for is in:
/usr/share/sounds/chat-msg_in_fg.wav
All you need to do is use a wav sound, name your sound chat-msg_in_fg.wav...

I'm owning one from the first batch, and only one. No scratches, no borken USB and faster than fast. It's simply the best n900 in the world. much faster than your slow n900s. It's like shadowfax...
