Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat

Re: Qt "stuck" at v5.6 in SFOS

Good catch, thanks!

Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat

Went to upgrade to...

Re: Qt "stuck" at v5.6 in SFOS

Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat

Asked on Telegram wether it is safe to upgrade Proš.
It is not!
Afaiu something in obs is broken and furthermore the lvm encryption will make a reflash necessary.

Management Summary: Wait for...

Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat

In a bored moment, I tried to upgrade using the sfos-upgrade script, and it broke in an interesting way. About 30 seconds after boot, the screen blanks and stays that way. I haven't investigated...

Re: Full linux distros on Sailfish OS

The UI works on the Proš, yes. I believe the distribution I show in the video was entirely installed form the UI.

The installation of the X session is based on scripts, and theoretically could be...

Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat

Double-tap to wake in Sailfish was disabled at the same time as Android. They said it was temporary but I haven't heard any updates on that since.

Re: Are you Ready? F(x)tec Pro 1 HW Keyboard Phone

SD card can store separate partition for alternate OS rootfs, but there is no support for booting from it in bootloader, so there still has to be a way to load Linux kernel + ramdisk + dtb of main...

Re: Are you Ready? F(x)tec Pro 1 HW Keyboard Phone

It is theoretically possible but is not something that has been implemented so far. There are two main issues:

1. It will require repartition of the device. Android encrypts the largest partition...

Re: Are you Ready? F(x)tec Pro 1 HW Keyboard Phone

I can confirm for bootloader, instead of "unlockable", it's "unlocked" with factory state, so there is no need to manually unlock it. In theory you don't even need to boot into Android, just press...
