If you don't like the VLC red winter cap which appears in and on the orange pylon in December it is now easy to remove on Linux and other desktop OSs, no more hassle commenting-out and recompiling...

You can "apt install scrot" and use scrot from cli (over ssh), or use the Fremantle shortcut to make a screenshot. I think it's ctrl+alt+p or so?
