Re: Nokia & AEGIS open-mode
People, is it true that nobody yet posted a patched open mode kernel for PR1.2?
I'm still stuck in PR1.1 because I need open mode for chroot and other hacks...
ps: I noticed that the same...

Re: Nokia & AEGIS open-mode
I will gladly host the original source on qole.org, plus any patched source/binaries.
I honestly don't understand the whole "source on a DVD" approach that Nokia is taking with Harmattan.

Re: Nokia & AEGIS open-mode
Well, once the DVD arrive, i'll work on it. Also, I know the original patchers of pr1.1 requested a copy. I will happily upload it once it arrives, so more can start working :)
Will keep updated in...

Re: A significant day in community governance?
Just a quick comment.
I think apps.formeego.org is a brilliant community-led recovery from an bad, ugly decision on the part of the Linux Foundation. Our "long lost friend" Nokia didn't create the...

N9/N950: The Terminal (^^)
I finally found out how the terminal looks on the N9(50), promising. I find it rather pleasing, was expecting a more messy one.

Re: N9: It's finally here
Well, I still get to use my stylus for a few more weeks :), but I'll end up using my right index finger with Harmattan devices. I'm refactoring some code for lefties and two-handed-thumb users. ...

BTW, those speculating about the N9 might be interested to know that Quim is answering questions about it on the MeeGo forum. From what I can see, there is a great potential for openness. It is...

Re: Who is going to make a geek phone?
Return rates were high, repair rates were high, not many sold (compared to similar devices) and many given away free. Put that up against the internal overhead, and I doubt Nokia cleared much if...

Re: Who is going to make a geek phone?
Outside of this group of geeks... I seriously cannot think of anybody that's used FM transmitter in their N900. I think it's a waste.
Just like I think that having an OS that has no support by...

Re: Who is going to make a geek phone?
Why should the developers get the keyboard while consumers have to go without? There are plenty of consumers that also are developers, just not blessed with Nokia's approval to get a N950.

Re: Who is going to make a geek phone?
- UX is mostly closed source, even more then the N900 was.
- Lacks gimmick features like FM that most geeks enjoy and like to fiddle with.
- Lacks major features like hardware keyboard, hdmi, a...
