Is your NIT a N810?

Mine is a N800. There is a bug in some of N810s (https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3026), are you aware of that?
For my N800 I have no problem of connecting...

about the incorrect 'cp *.txt somewhere/*.txt': It could indeed cause trouble. The '*' is expanded by the shell _when you enter the command_, this is different from how it works in the DOS command...

that doesn't look like a proper command...

cp /root/*.txt /media/usb/sda1 I think is what you want.. you don't want *.txt at the end of the second parameter.. it would cause for unexpected...

Yes. That doesn't work, because * expands to match any filenames there.

So, if you have a.txt, b.txt, and c.txt in /root/, and have 1.txt and 2.txt already on /media/usb/sda1/, it expands to:

I think you are referring to my post? The difference is external power. All external power HD works, the only one that does not work are those powered by USB, be it 3.5" or 2.5". I mentioned 2.5"...
