Re: What is aegis [MSSF] and how does it affect Free Software development?

Do you think there is a "write once" hardware flag to implement this warranty void?

Re: What is aegis [MSSF] and how does it affect Free Software development?

Re: [Announce] advanced-systemui (ASUI)

It already comes with that, just un-comment-out

#CFLAGS += -DDEBUG_FUNC

in the Makefile and rebuild.

Re: Cordia : Maemo5 UI on top MeeGo Core

Was there ever clarification about what wasn't open? At least the wifi is a rather boring TI device with drivers already in the kernel... only the graphics are closed as far as I can see.

Re: N9 [Announced]: It's [NOT] finally here!

No promises - as I've told the PM'ers so far. I'm collecting names, models and seeing what I can pull off.

Looking like I'll have to make a quick trip to Mexico City. Let's hope I manage to walk...

Re: N9 is here! Personal experiences wanted

Telenor has secured the sole right to sell the N9 in Norway for the rest of the year. It appears as SIM locked in their webshop. BTW: They are marketing it heavily on the web.

Re: Cordia : Maemo5 UI on top MeeGo Core

We need more than the kernel source. Devices like the Dell Streak 5 and Nook Color have already been tried, but ran into a wall because some essential thing like the WiFi chip was not open.

Re: Cordia : Maemo5 UI on top MeeGo Core

Perhaps shop around for a better supplier? Archos for example seem to publish their sources (http://www.archos.com/support/support_tech/updates_gnu.html), and the device specs aren't bad either.

Re: Tizen?

Adding a web page as an icon to the menu, which will launch the browser and some page (app) in it is not really an example of HTML(5) based environment - by that account you can claim that even Maemo...

Re: Who's still around and interested in N800/N810?

What originally interested me the most in Qt 4.6 was its native graphics backend (X11/Xvideo) as opposed to raster backend in Qt 4.5. However, I don't know and haven't checked whether Diablo's X...

Re: Tizen?

That depends.

The most annoying and wrong-headed thing about MeeGo is their promotion of Qt as the preferred (and sometimes 'required') native toolkit.

Linux-with-Qt-required isn't Linux, it's...
