Now they have removed the "non-free" and "key value" parts from the wms urls. It might be that those urls won't change in a while now, but I have made an updated version of the python script in case...

I tried to add somer error detection to WMS settings parsing and that error message should appear if:
type is not "basemap" or "layer"
or name is not set
or url(s) is not set
or layers is not...

Yes, every time you zoom in/out it loads 7x9 map tiles from database to memory. Maximum number of tiles kept in memory is 600 which is roughly 300MB with topomaps, so it shouldn't ever use much more...
