Yes, the N800 version of mplayer is optimized for the N800's CPU. It doesn't work on the 770. You need the 770 version on the 770.

I can't go on the storage settings (my saved videos are on my external sd card), the console shows that hildon is not imported in lgc/conf.py

Other than that, it seems to work great, nice job.

Honestly, Easy Debian doesn't make any sense at all for a Fremantle Star. What I'd much rather see is Maemo coming inline with upstream Debian or Ubuntu so it isn't necessary.
